Important Forum Change: blocked word addition

This forum commenced as a result of the previous one on the 36ers website being canned. The reason being is because of uninformed, insulting and damaging posts. It was claimed to make a bad impression on sponsors, supporters and the club. A certain CEO only about 12 months ago requested the same action and the same action to block his name was also taken. Recognition of the potential to damage is not new at this moment.

Spinner, I don't think its all of a sudden that people are sensitive. These insulting posts have been going on for a long time and under so many different headings. Its been the main topic of discussion throughout this season and we are almost at the end. He is coaching a professional sports team because he is a professional coach but a great number of posts on this forum are anything but. You can read Boti's articles in the paper and he himself has had some criticisms, but he is a professional writer and understands the legal implications of what he writes. For this reason, he is careful. No care whatsoever is taken on what is written on this forum. I also dont think that accepting what is written about him is part of the package that goes with the role. Spinner I appreciate your comments.

What a whole lot of complaints about nothing, especially because there are ways around it and people still know who you are talking about. If a person has requested his name to be blocked from all posts, that is fair enough. I post under the name of EC. It is my actual initials, but very few on this forum know who I am personally. They know just enough to develop an opinion of me by what I post. If my full name was mentioned on this forum, I would have a problem with it. The reason I would have a problem is because there is no control over who writes or what is written. It is done by many uneducated people who have no idea about what is acceptable and what is not (legally and morally). The posts in the past regarding "head coach" have not all been specific to his coaching skills but personally offensive. As a fan of the 36ers it does not give anyone the right to personally offend anyone. As for timing when most of the posts in the last few days have been positive, just goes to show he is serious about this issue and certainly gives no reason for anyone to believe that he is further deteriorating his reputation. If the posts have been positive in the last few days, what happens after the next bad game by the 36ers. I suggest everyone accept and respect this decision and if any legitimate praise or criticism is necessary, then mention it without the need to use a name. No problems from me regarding this change to the forum.

Not that I'm doubting you, but it seems odd to me that admin'd contact you
on behalf of Phil if they didn't believe that there was a need/cause.

OK Anonymous, the club will be available at admin@adelaide36ers.com to answer that very question, give them a buzz first thing tomorrow. Publicly shame me by quoting his complete response. I'll be asking for a copy of the message sent to Isack from their Sent-box tomorrow, & we'll see how they match up. There's another promise.

That's what I love about this site, anybody can log on or forget to, & post unsubstantiated crap to like minded haters.

The team's turning it's fortunes around & you numbnuts still wanna bitch. Quite incredible.

This could go some way to explaining why Boti Nagy has avoided criticising the coaching staff of the 36ers this year.

Skip, I wouldn't be too worried about DDFan... next training session, he'll give Coach one of his trademark "DDFan Sprays", and then be booted from his voluntary role within the club.

As for the forum side, I'm sure Isaac (not iZac or Isack, if you get a chance to read this before Isaac bans you, DDFan) will take care of that next time he's online. :)

As for the 36ers head coach's name been censored. Can we all recall what happened to the last guys name who was sensored on here, is it a sign of things to come.

Who wants to post about him anyway, surely the negative posts have covered just about everything they could have by now. haha.
