Silly, but can it happen: 36ers vs Taipans
Anon #169555, excuse me for showing little confidence but would I be right in saying that I saw last Saturday's game in Brisbane and you did not? That game had such a profound affect, that it is difficult to be confident. I am thrilled at last night's win but confidence will come when they string together 5 or 6 consecutive wins, and when the season ends with more wins than losses. Great game last night but it needs to continue. Not like the Sydney game here 2 weeks ago and then followed it 5 days later with the Perth rubbish. If I wasn't a supporter and passionate about the game and the team, I wouldn't be making these comments as I couldn't care less. The schedule has been really tough in the last 2 weeks and there has been some injuries, but when you have 2 players that can't control their tempers and end up with Tech fouls and ejection from the game, then they are not acting in the best interest of the team. Once again, a great team effort last night and hope it continues so we can still have a run at the playoffs.

Anon #16955, hindsight is such a wonderful gift. Based on the last 2 weeks' performances, how confident were you that they would win this one before the game started?

yea, i reckon if we keep him in the league for the next season or 2 he will be MVP callibre for sure!
Phil seems to do well with his fresh face imports, KB, Farley now Hodge, pity he didnt pick Hodge up to start with.
Good win tonight, heres hoping we can win our next couple and sneek into the playoffs!

also just noticed Hodge made a 3 pointer!!
If he develops a half decent jump shot to go along with his ability to get to the hoop, Watch out, he will be a big time scorer for sure! along with his decent all round game!

WOW great effort i say sign Hodge, Ballinger and Ng on 3 year contracts and build the club around them! they are all in awesome form and both Hodge and Ng are under 25 so have plenty of basketball left in them! I would be happy to see Hodge and Ballinger as our import tandem for the next few years, not too many better in my opinion!

The NBL Live box score is okay - you won;t find Hodge's numbers on there. You can get his points by adding up the players who do show in teh box and subtracting that result from the 11 total for the Sixers. I don't know about the other stat lines (rebounds, assists, fouls) for him though.
Otherwise, take WhoMe! advice and wait for the full box score to go up on nbl.com

From the radio coverage
Hodge - 38 plus a lot of rebounds
Ballinger - 36
Ng - 24
98 out of 111 points
Reminds me of the North Melbourne Giants championship year when Tim Dillon, Scott Fisher (the "twin boulders") and David Graham used to score nearly all of their points in every game.

Yes! Cattalini miss - Hodge gets the rebound. Shots for Hodge.
22 seconds left
Got one!
Sixers 6 up
Cooper rebounds the second and has shots.
We're going to win this!

Darren Ng fouled with 31.6 seconds left
Ng to shoot 2
Got them both!
36ers up by 5 again
go Sixers!

36ers up by 5, Abney with 2 foul shots
Hodge - 39pts
Ballinger 34 I think
2:03 left

Ng scores, then Boodnikoff hits a 3. Hodge drives and dunks, has a bonus shot. 101-98.
I think about 2:00 to go??

Hodge again. Scores and fouled. Sixers 4 points up. Not sure about the time left

Wow - Hdge hits 2/2 foul shots and Cooper dunks it. IWho is this team playing in 36ers singlets?
Sixer 1 point up, with 5:00 to go.

radio feed expected. Ever tuned into ABC Adelaide its the same both ways. be thankfull we have it..

Mottram goes down - shoulder injury. Radio guys saying it's dislocated. (Naughty word). 87-84 Sixers. About 7:00 left

Hodge IS playing, just name dosnt appear on the live scores. Grab the total minus all other players points and you have Hodge's stats.

Cairns on a bit of a run. Commentators confident Taipans going to run over the top of us. They definetly seem to be controlling the tempo by the sounds of it.

Cairns Taipans vs Adelaide 36ers Live Scores
Yes the NBL Live Scoring is working tonight.
Find links above for radio coverage.

Three quarter time - 81-71, Sixers ahead. Go 36ers!
By the way, with Blaze beating Wildcats tonight, the 36ers have to win this one to have any sniff of making the playoffs. They lose and it becomes all but academic

Dench just dunked and Cattalini hit a three
Missed shots at each end, last shot offence being run by 36ers

Mottram scored and gets benched, Axel comes on and scores :-) it dosnt work Voldermort you can't screw everything up (Just Joking). Impressive effort as was the Tigers game. Go Sixers!

Radio says Darren Ng just got his 4th foul. Have to watch that, given he's been the only other effective scorer, after Hodge and Ballinger.
I wonder if Davidson is wearing himself out defending Black, so not getting on teh score board? Black's only got 7 points, but 5 assists.
Sixers up by 9 (77-68), with 2:41 to go in teh third

Yes - The 4CA commentators made mention of that at half time. Said it was something they hadn't seen before. I don't recall an NBL game reaching this point of the game (half way through the third quarter), with only three scorers for a team and they're leading!

Hodge and Ballinger doing all the work... Cairns will surely wake up to it at the half.

LOL Cairns are a qulaity team on paper, just gotta keep the scoreboard ticking over and try to contain as best as possible.

To think that before the season started, the
36ers were tipped to finish around 4th. Also to think that a thought went through my mind at the time saying I am not happy with that, we need to do better. 4 months later............better not say anymore.
