Why Gawler for U18 Nationals?
Starplex also has a large quiet and separate theatre/auditorium which is good for ceremonies, presentations etc. This has big screen video and sound system and can also be opened up next to court 4 if necessary.
Good feedback from participants at previous Australian U14 girls and around 3 years ago the U14 boys championships run by the same 3 clubs at the venue would also have been taken into consideration.

Wayville stadium needs to have air conditioning to be to the same standard as Starplex.

Totally agree. Adelaide has stuff-all suburban stadiums, and some embarrassing buildings that wouldn't be in use in Melbourne or Sydney get constant use. Some of that $100 million for AAMI (another useless venue) would be better diverted to community sports facilities.

Will, with any luck, be looking for accommodation for the week (ideally a house or unit). If anybody has any leads or inside Adelaide info, I'd appreciate the help. Thanks.

Wasn't there a similar thread a couple of months ago?
Starplex has the best courts in the State and there are four in a row. Starplex is just 30 mins from the CBD, hardly the "middle of nowhere".
Why,
If Starplex is so offensive to you, where would you like the see this held?
(I suppose another post will give people another opportunity to vent their prejudices and their sheltered Adelaide attitudes.)
