Press release from the Lightning:
The Adelaide Quit Lightning are pleased to announce that Tami Willey has signed to play with the Club for the 2005/06 season.
Tami is an American who has, to date, been playing in the ABA in McKay Queensland. She gained the attention of coaching staff last year but her wedding plans then prevented her joining the Quit Lightning program.
Tami accompanied the team on its recent trip to China and impressed Chris Lucas with her performances against the Chinese National team and Chinese Youth Team.
In particular, she averaged 16 points per game against imposing front court of the Chinese National team including Chen, who was selected as the Olympic All Star centre at the Athens Olympics.
Tami will move from Queensland with her Australian husband to join Chris and the rest of the squad for pre season training in August.
The Club expects that Tami will be a strong addition to its playing group and looks forward to her arrival from Queensland.
