Adelaide-Hodge, what might've happened...
regardless of how good hodge is, he caused unecessary distractions at tha 36ers that didn't result in anything spectacular on the court. Sure he put up some good numbers, but so did Carlos Powell for tha Breakers and he didn't turn the clubs fortunes around either. It would be stupid to sign a player with a reputation like hodges this late in the season to any team. The Tigers need to get the players they have already on their roster to gel, nevermind looking at other players.
Hodge needs to go home and think about which team in the D League he wants to sit on the bench for lol and sus out how he's gona pay the 36ers back.

Contractually, the Sixers were ahead of the game re: Hodge's pay.

Not only that but Hodge's agent requested he be released from his contract last Thursday before the 36ers released him. In that case the 36ers merely agreed to the agent's request.

Guess if they haven't cleared him... He might still be technically on the roster.
Maybe that's why he wanted to use their facilities , today.

As fascinated as I was/am as a Sixers disciple, is anybody else thouroughly over this situation? Boti aside I mean.
(Exceptionally entertaining, albeit self indulgently parochial article today btw - brought many smiles).

Has anyone established if his family is still here? He said before Christmas that they were coming to Adelaide after Christmas. I assume a trip of that distance would mean his family is still here and has pre arranged flights to return home. He could be waiting to go home with them. Also he states that he has received the advance pay but the December pay has not yet hit his account. I am not saying I believe that, but if it is the case, he could be waiting for December's pay before he is convinced that he has been paid anything extra. The other alternative is that he has all his pay but doesn't want to pay any back because of this gripe with Sixers admin. He also said that his banking details had not changed from the November payment, therefore there should not have been a problem with the December payment. Once again, who do you believe?

ShaneD, I can just imagine Grizzard's contract stating we will pay x amount but you have to fight Hodge for it. A very attractive contract to sign indeed, haha.

Technically, The Tigers (10 games left), New Zealand, Sydney (8 games left), Cairns or Adelaide (7 games left) could sign him to make play offs.
Given that list of names, I'll file it under "unlikely" he'll suit up here again in 08/09.

Well, it was wasn't it. Then Ere played a good one.
Still about 2 weeks left, for the 7games to qualify.

Tigers 20games. As, I've said several times, it seems unlikely. But a lotta talk about it, with him going over there , twice - recently, and still hanging around. I found the topic and replies interesting to read.

I'm skipping reading this entire thread to say "Get over this Hodge problem and get back into the game".

... time has run out for Jules to be a factor in any team within the NBL.FAIL.
Takes seven games to qualify for the playoffs, as we know from Grizzard situation.
Tigers have only played 20 games.

Maybe he just likes 10k moonlit jogs on the beach with Volde. It's a beautiful thing.

After seeing the Tigers turn it on (eventually) against the Wildcats and go on a crazy run, I wouldnt be messing with the tools they have got in place atm. With continued chemistry they have a lot of potential biggest weakness is big guys, and Hodge isn't going to fix that problem for them.

Might he be in Melbourne soon though? little tiger.

Could just be prank calling the dome I guess.

Isaac- Fair call
Probably applying for Centrelink as we speak. Wonder if he would walk out on them if they didn't pay up!

What I cant work out is why he's still in Adelaide, he isn't rushing off to get another contract. So what were his motives to leave?? Its not like he has taken his money and run so to speak, hes still here! I wonder if the sixers do still owe him some cash?

Somehow, I doubt it.
* Hodge walks in the weights room smiling *
* Grizz is lifting weights *
J - "Ahh..hey"
R - "Hey. Read your blog"
* Awkward silence *
* Hodge backs out of room silently *

That Happy Gilmore call is gold - still laughing.

There's the 20% mentioned, Isaac. Looks like you would be right. " They only wanted to pay 20% and the rest on thursday"

Funny that he didn't want to train. Today is 41 degrees, here, and he wants to lift weights ?
Got sunday mail, here.. ' why are you trying to bargain with me. Just pay me.. " trying to inject a performance based clause..

Something wierd happening here, in the words of Happy Gilmore
"Why wont you just go home, are you to good for your home"

Hodge did mention that (sunday mail, I think)

Why would you even ask an american import to take a paycut?? Especially ex-NBA player from Harlem, where money is everything!
