International showdown: Continent vs Continent
Billo, go further down in the article...'The seven-continent model is usually taught in Western Europe, Northern Europe, Central Europe, Southeastern Europe, China and most English-speaking countries. The six-continent combined-Eurasia model is preferred by the geographic community, Russia, Eastern Europe, and Japan. The six-continent combined-America model is taught in Latin America, Iran and some parts of Europe including Greece, Portugal and Spain. This model may be taught to include only the five inhabited continents (excluding Antarctica)[20][21] as depicted in the Olympic logo.[22]' There are many different models a 4,5,6 or 7 continent model. In NZ, We are taught the 5 continent model for some reason..We have the saying that all the continents <strike>end</strike> start in A and finish in A..Australia, Antartica, Asia,America and Africa <cite>(Mod: I think you meant "start in A".)</cite>

Sorry Shin Splints and Isaac, didn't realise there were many ways of interpreting it.
If you look here :
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Continent
You can distinguish as 4,5,6 or 7 continents. Some interpretations combine Europe and Asia into one continent and another one combine the americas.

Probably need some geography help there Isaac. Europe is not a continent, and South America and North America are not 2 separate continents-'America' is one entire continent.
