If they dont demand anything along the lines of a $1Million bank guarantee and there license fee is reasonable and owners view it as having the potential to be profitable by successfully tapping into the basketball market of here and in aisa i think owners would find it appealing. Maybe this is a option for the 36ers if they cant get into the NBL.
Another thought re the 36ers if they are say only $150-200k short why dont they play a save the 36ers match at the dome, with our aussie content playing say a ABL allstar team or something??
Sell it more as a fundraiser to keep the 36ers alive more than the actual match and i think fans who dont wanna see the 36ers die would attend. Also could have place for small donations/sponsorships/memberships to be sold at good prices and get the cash from the community ala Cairns and Wollongong.
Say if they charge $20-30 per ticket and got say 3,000 to 5,000 people to attend that would raise $60,000 - 150,000 say they achieve the middle of around $100k, that would be enough to keep the 36ers alive woldnt it? or atleast be fairly close.
