The Pioneers are a sinking ship
45 points to Sandringham in the first quarter - the coach didn't know how to stop them and didn't have a clue how the opposition played...he was flat on his face after 6 minutes when they were down 25-3!
Enough said

Hey Beuller - do you watch the Pioneers games??? So Westover takes out Anstey at the six minute mark of a quarter when he's scored 10 points does he?
You're not making sense - you see the thing about Al and most other coaches in NBL/SEABL or wherever is that they have a feel for the game - the Pioneers coach doesn't have that.
He recently took out a player who had brought them back into the game with a couple of dunks and a big three pointer and then a minute later he was subbed back in because the opposition team made a run...
Why was he subbed? Just becausea guy has played maybe 8-10 minutes of game time that doesn't mean he needs to rested.
If it does it means the players aren't fit enough and not enough was doen on conditioning during the off-season.
The players don't want De Witt as coach - they want to be taught and they want to have confidence that they can play for someone who is willing to let them fight through the tough times, who changes his planning to suit the team they are playing and they want to run plays.
De Witt can't do this.

Quite right about the coaching accreditation and I don't think that is a major issue, but if you've seen the guy coach you know he doesn't have a clue.
He makes the same subs at the 6 min mark of each quarter and the players know that it doesn't matter if they've just hit 10 baskets in a row, they're coming out of the game.
I would think it would at least look good to say the Pioneers coach has a level 1 or 2, rather than saying he played for us in the 90s so that's good enough.
He clearly doesn't realise that the game continues to evolve.
This is a major mess

Pouring over the NBL site, they list junior Association for the players.
After thinking (very briefly) about how competitive a 'sturt' NBL team would be I then started to look into other SA ballers, and where they played junior ball.
The result:
Mark Bradkte: Noarlunga
Brett Wheeler: Noarlunga
Luke Schenshner(sp?): Noarlunga
Shooters
Brett maher: Sturt
Jacob Holmes: Sturt
Brad Hill: Sturt
Oscar Forman: Sturt
Are there any other common themes you can find out there?
