Wed 27th: Play Melbourne
Thu 28th: Return to Adelaide
Fri 29th: Jump on Plane to Townsville

I don't think they will return to Adelaide on Thur 28th. It would be more practical to go from Melbourne straight to Townsville and get an extra day to stretch their legs. The additional night accommodation would be covered by the one less airfare to come back to Adelaide from Melbourne first.

As far as I am aware - the reason for keeping the name NBL, at this stage, is that they will line up a name in conjuction with the naming rights sponsor.
( Maybe like Australia Post Basketball - something along those lines - I THINK.)

Again apologies for idiot but it wasnt a well thought our question was it???

Regarding the season opening. The first game is in NZ so they dont care about AFL and the other game is at 7:30 in far north Queensland who dont care much for AFL and the game will be well and truely over.

I don't like the January schedule.

Wed 13th: Home against Cairns
Thu 14th: Jump on plane, land in humid Gold Coast airport, loose luggage, arrive late at hotel - no hot water
Fri 15th: Shuttle bus late for team collect for training session. Arrive at stadium, cheerleaders on court get priority. Play Gold Coast that night
Sat 16th: Jump on plane, travel halfway around Oz, land in Melb, loose luggage, shuttle bus to stadium for training, spend half an hour getting a park, play against Melbourne that night.
(The only good point is that Melbourne plays in Auckland Thursday night....)
then,
Sun17th: jump on plane and get back to Adelaide. Media film very tired team collecting bits of luggage from airport. Scotty with 3 day growth.
Tue or Wed: dust off pasport, jump on plane to Auckland, land at airport, loose luggage, get through customs search, shuttle bus late, hang around Auckland airport waiting, arrive late at hotel.
Thu 21st: quick trip to NSEC across the harbour for a train, return to the hostile crowd that night.
Fri 22nd: Shuttle bus to airport for the 6 am flight, back in Oz, jettlagged, media film tired players coming down escalator, scavenging through airport to find lost luggage, Scotty with 6 day growth giving interview
Sat 23rd: Team buggered!
Sun 24th: Rest day
Mon 25th: Normal training
Tue 26th: Quick Aussie day BBQ at airport, then fly to Melbourne.
Wed 27th: Play Melbourne
Thu 28th: Return to Adelaide
Fri 29th: Jump on Plane to Townsville
Sat 30th: Play Townsville
Sun 31st: Back to Adelaide
Mon 1st Feb: Team totally buggered! Scotty with full beard after forgetting to pack razor

Because the season would take to long. That would make the regular season go for 28 weeks!!!!!! Plus finals, all finals are a three game series so you want the season to go 34 weeks??? Idiot
