Who will win the NBL Championship?

who ever can keep their players healthy and fit. the Breakers last season were all go untill Jan and then injury issues pushed them out of the top 2 and players who had been playing awesome got average quick and they never fully recovered and the Tigers and Dragons played the Final. Hopefully Nz's depth and the change to 40mins will help keep their starters fresh further into the season.

I can tell you who won't win it, Blaze, 36ers, Cairns.
Crocs and Hawks are are a chance of making semis and could upset.
Perth, Breakers and Tigers will fight it out.
My money would probably be on Perth. When you come down to 'grind it out' games that frontcourt of theirs will ensure rhey are in the game. They will get better as season unfolds too.
The 3 will not be good enough for the Breakers. They need to find an inside game.
Tigers if and when they get Anstey back have that inside outside game and they have Worthington "the winner".

Round 1 is finished.

I would back the team that wins the GF.
Seriously though, most teams qualities are unknown this early, some drop, some improve, some imports shine, some go out in disgrace, some get injured.
With a whole new concept, surely wait until end of round 1, then ask for judgement

To all those around in support of changing the Junior seasons to fit into a Calender year I suggest you look around this weekend at what's going on.

In theory this weekend of Junior games would in 2006 be the last round of the Junior Season.

Take into consideration that over Five games have been postponed and at least 3 teams have forfeited their games tonight.

While the Pacific School Games may not be an annual event it has this year taken at least 44 boys and girls interstate. Add to that the SASI teams which are currently overseas, plus schoolies coming this weekend.

On top of this the National Schools Basketball Championships begin December 6 just in time for the proposed Finals Series in 2006.

That equals at least 80 basketballers being away on basketball tournaments over the next few weeks, and again the numerous students who would rather celebrate schoolies rather then being forced to play a game.

That in itself is reason enough in my opinion.

We could also add that it will put us out of whack with the biggest and strongest associations in Australia, will mean MORE work for clubs over the christmas period when club's volunteers would rather be spending time with their families or on holidays.

I could keep going but there have been plenty of cons to changing listed on here already, and only two pros.

Make your club reps see that calender basketball years WON'T WORK and make them vote against it!
