Are coaches worth anything?

Without a coach, a team is only a group of individuals. I have never known a successful team that has not had at least a half-decent cach at the helm.

Players make coaches!
Coaches tinker around and probably have some influence over the course of a game with preparation, tactics, subs and focus etc. but at the end of the day if you ain't got the horses????
