Barry Hall is now a Bulldog
Nick Stevens is about to retire and Gibbs would be better suited to being a running half-back.

MalMichael was actually contracted for 1 more year with teh Liona, then told the club he wanted to retre to go to PNG and work with the underpriveleged kids. The club worked with him and released him from the final year of his conract and dropped him off there list. Then he turned around and 'unretired' to play with the Pies - so yeah he certainly wasnt a popular chap with the people at the Lions.
Cousins also was delisted by the Eagles and therefore had to go into the draft. Sydney had kept Hall on their list so they could possibly use him as a trade - which they now have

I guess the difference is that Cousins was de-registered by the league so he had no choice but to re-enter via the draft. While Hall retired, he was probably still under contract in some regards. I think it's fair that the Swans do get something otherwise players would be retiring all over the shop and joining other clubs in their "comeback season".

At this stage of the competition who do you think will win the MVP award this year?
My Contenders are
Adelaide- Brett
Wollongong- Ballinger
Sydney - CJ
Melbourne - Anstey
I can't see anyone else being in the running as these guys are getting their teams wins and putting up consistant stats.
Anstey maybe slight favourite as effectively he has replace Gaze and Bradtke and the Tigers have won around the same games as last year.
CJ will have votes taken off him by others like Smith and Roberts.
Brett should be in with a good shot as the league seems to think that the sixers are punching above their weight.
Ballinger is getting the job done in the gong with Cortez only guy to consistantly steal votes off him.
