Geez, done over again! I reckon I'm 1 and 3 now. I think my only win came in the first week against Skip before he started pumping out the monster scores!

Cheers Skip, just noticed Cooper was picked up, and no one else scores ha ha.

How do they become unrestricted? (sorry if it is a dumb question).

Damn Lockie that is a gun team you have there now! Maxey really puts you over the top and you've got Wagstaff and then Cedar to come back in a few weeks for depth too.

The Hunter Pirates, playing without any imports and missing Boomers squad member Larry Davidson, have humbled the Adelaide 36ERS in their one-time bastion, leaving with a 102-114 victory. Geordie Cullen had a veritable field day at the Distinctive Homes Dome, scoring 12 first quarter points and then continuing on to have game-highs of 31 points and 11 rebounds. Streak-shooter Aaron Trahair had one of his hot-nights, hitting 54% of his outside shots for 25 points of his own.

For Adelaide, Dusty Rychart and Willie Farley led the scoring with 22 and 20 respectively, but the better games came from Jacob Holmes (17 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists) and Brett Maher (14 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists).

Off the bench, Brad Hill and Mark Nash were effective, both in double-figures, but it was not enough up against the Pirates who had enjoyed two days of rest coming into the game. By comparison, the Sixers were sluggish, having battled to a narrow loss in Wollongong just the night before.

The first quarter saw a horrible opening for the favoured Sixers team, as they took four minutes to open their scoring account and coughed up four consecutive turnovers. Holmes was the early worker, and Rychart added a three to keep it competitive.

Adelaide were again under their best in the second, but at least maintained a slight edge despite Trahair catching fire from long range. Rychart toiled in the paint and Nash scored off a couple of offensive rebounds, but the effort from Trahair and Cullen meant that the 36ERS entered the main break with an advantage of a single point.

The long rest did not worry Trahair and he added another two back-breaking threes in the third quarter. Fatigue looked to stump any efforts from the home team to react and when Brad Davidson nailed a giant three at the end of the term, Adelaide were behind 11 points.

The situation worsened for the Sixers before they found new vigour -- Hunter burst to lead by almost 20 points in front of a subdued crowd early in the fourth -- and only some late highlights from Farley and Rychart enabled Adelaide to close to seven points and reignite the spectators.

From there, forced to foul in hope of clawing their way back, the 36ERS watched the result drift away, eventually losing by 12.

With the loss, Adelaide drop to 15-8 and have lost three straight games. They cling to third spot on the ladder and face the Tigers in Hobart this week. The Pirates are in eighth position with a 10-13 record.

Hunter Pirates 114 (Cullen 31, Trahair 25, Melmeth 15, Hinder 15)
Adelaide 36ers 102 (Rychart 22, Farley 20, Holmes 17, Maher 14, Hill 12, Nash 11)
