Hoops FNBL - ROund 10
Thanks guys, will try and remember this time...ha ha
Beantown, little bit of karma for last week, we had no games..grrr. I had 185 this week and 365 two weeks ago.
Wish Rogey would get better.

OMG - just my luck to cop DB5 the week the Sixers are the only team playing twice! Gizmo with 72, plus you have Burston and Holmes in your starting lineup - ack ye gods I'm gonna get pasted!

Cheers Lockie. Would not have done it though, been sitting on my team waiting for a few blokes to come good. Skip has already tried to prise the cappo off of me...

X (or anyone really) do you know what Gilchrist got tonight? Cannot remember where to view totals again..
Cheers.

Gilchrist (Cappo)
Mills
Burston
Holmes
Ronaldson
Vukona
O'hea
Williamson
Rogers
Bathie

Correct. If Sussessful, you would drop to the bottom of the waiver wire.
If no one bids, he is first in best dressed from 9am monday.

C - Greg Vanderjagt
F - Glen Saville
F - Adam Ballinger (Captain)
G - Peter Crawford
G - Aaron Grabou
Bench
G - Tyson Demos
F - Jeremiah Trueman
F - Brad Williamson
Left Out
C - Chris Anstey
G - Nathan Crosswell

Lockie, just saw your offer. I'm willing to take a gamble and trade Harvey for Jones. Knowing my luck that will result in a season ending knee injury for Jones and a mid-season renaissance from Harvey, but bugger it, you only live once!
If you are interested, I'd also be up for a swap of Goulding and M Cedar.
I won't be able to check if the Harvey-Jones trade is accepted before this weeks deadline, so if the trade goes through, Skip please note that I want Jones in my starting lineup for this week instead of Harvey!

My team for this week:
C: Tragardh
F: Petrie
F: Boucher
G: Harvey
G: Groves (Captain)
B: Hoare
B: Martin
B: Goulding
DNP: Mackinnon
DNP: Lang

No deal X - I don't really want to be tagged as the Chris Wallace of the Hoops FNBL!

Ouch Skip! Sammy's not the player he was but he's still been pretty solid and injury free this season.
Oh well, another week, another failed trade! It's tough trying to make trades with so few players and GM's - especially when all the GM's know what they're doing! :-) This league needs its own Chris Wallace!

Nice try Skip, but I've waited too long to get to the #1 slot on the waiver wire! I'd need a fair bit more to give it up!
How about Mackinnon, Hoare and the rights to my waiver wire slot for Wortho and Hill?

Fair enough Skip. Its kind of a current production v potential production thing. Campbell is outscoring Harvey now, but you'd have to think Harvey's best is better than Campbell's. Likewise - but in the reverse direction for this trade, Hoare is outscoring Hill for now, but if Hill can take that next step, then you'd expect him to outscore Hoare.
Bit of a gamble on both sides really, but I like Hill and feel like shaking things up a fair bit, so I wouldn't do just Campbell for Harvey right now. Let's revisit this trade next week and see if it looks better to you then!

Hill and Campbell for Harvey and Hoare.... hmmm
Out loud that sounds like a sweet deal, but when I look at their average scores, I'm less keen, especially with 2 away games for Hill this week. No deal at this point.
What about just Campbell for Harvey maybe?
My team this week is...
Starters
C - Hinder
F - Hill - Captain
F - Cattalini
G - C Williams
G - Lisch
Bench
F - Dowdell
G - Campbell
C - Pledger
DNP
F - Worthington
G - Corletto

Beantown - All the home teams scores are out as I didnt shift everyones formula up a spot. In terms of the result, it only affected you and X. But it does affect everyones percentage. Easy fixed though. I will repost the correct ladder later today.

No worries Skip - I think you may have just read the spreadsheet wrong as Bizzy is next to X on the list!
Also, are you up for trading Hill and Campbell for Harvey and Hoare this week? We gotta try something if we want to catch X or Lockie!

Dammit. Stupid excel formulas not updating themselves. Many apologies. It always seems to be yours I stuff up to Beantown.
Have updated at my end. will repost the pdf soon.

Dammit Skip, I was literally x-statik for a second there, thinking I'd somehow pulled off a massive upset. Then I checked google groups ... :-(
You accidentally gave me Bizzy's score! So X can breathe easy in 2nd for now, with a two game lead on the pack behind!

Round 9 Results....
WORST FNBL ROUND EVER!
TR 228 defeated Statman 140
Bizzy 260 defeated DB5 185
Beantown 301 defeated Xztatik 246
Lockie 202 defeated Skip 96

Need to decide whether to class him as a Forward or Centre. He has mainly played as a Centre with the Blaze in the past and is coming in to replace a centre.
Any major objections to him being classed as a centre?

Storey Out
Trueman in
Is Casey Frank restricted till next week?
If he is a FA right now Ill have him rather than Trueman

The Adelaide 36ERS last night shook off a week of turmoil pertaining to its parent association and an energy-sapping heatwave to burn the visiting Hunter Pirates, 111-91.
Their revenge came on the back of the team's superb form from outside the arc, the side connecting on 55% of triples in the sweltering Distinctive Homes Dome.
Captain Brett Maher, playing in his 450th NBL game and returning from an injury-related DNP the week before, was brilliant, leading all scorers with 31 points which included hitting six of eight from the deep.
The Sixers show cast also featured Willie Farley's 21 points at 67% and back-up shooting guard Brad Hill stepping off the bench for 16 points of his own; it was only appropriate that the best crowd of the season (6,149) arrived despite the sauna-like conditions to watch the team's final home game before the finals commence.
For the visiting side, Russell Hinder was professional, quietly amassing 24 points and 17 rebounds, and Geordie Cullen got to the line consistently to aid his total of 21 points, but the Pirates could not match Adelaide's firepower.
Even at half-time, the signs were ominous as Adelaide proceeded smoothly, shooting at 53% (67% 3PT) from the field to Hunter's poor 28%.
Hunter had stayed in touch for much of the opening quarter before Adelaide closed with a run of 10 unanswered points. Farley, Maher and Oscar Forman (8 points for the term on his way to 14 points) beat the Pirates from outside and gave the home side a ten-point buffer at the first break.
Hinder and Cullen had some luck in the second quarter, but for the most part Hunter were luckless from the field, managing only 15 points in total. Adelaide remained a step above, drawing scores from 8 players to win the period 24-15.
Highlights for the quarter were Hill's dunk on the break and a nice triple, as well as a passage in which Maher was knocked to the ground on offense with no foul called, picked himself up, camped in the corner to await the feed from Farley, and then buried a triple.
At half-time, Adelaide enjoyed a commanding 54-35 lead.
After the long break, however, the Pirates righted their ship and doubled their efforts. Hinder and Cullen combined for 25 points in the second half, overrunning two of Adelaide's starters in David Cooper (0-5 FG) and Jacob Holmes (1-8 FG, but 9 rebounds and a team-high 6 assists).
For every Hunter attack, Adelaide had a smooth reply. Maher was inspirational in the second half with 21 points and, at one point, Forman had hit all four of his three-point attempts.
The final quarter saw Dusty Rychart advance his quiet total and the forward finished with a diligent double-double - 14 points (75% FG) and a team-high 10 rebounds, as well as 4 assists.
Hunter had some success with the injection of giant Jason Eversteyn for quick boards and points in the paint, but there was no chance of the Pirates winning this one at the Dome.
The Sixers home by 20 points, 111-91, despite giving up more shots, more free throws, more boards and having 19 turnovers in the hot conditions. Their 51%-36% from the field was just too strong an advantage.
With the win, Adelaide gain their 19th of the season and are two games clear in third spot on the NBL ladder. Their remaining three games for the regular season are on the road in Queensland. The Pirates will see play-off action regardless of the result, holding eighth position.
Adelaide 36ers 111 (Maher 31, Farley 21, Hill 15, Rychart 14, Forman 14)
Hunter Pirates 91 (Hinder 24, Cullen 21, Helms 16, Trahair 11)
