NBA 2K10 Review

Has anybody played the PC version? I nearly bought it in the recent Steam Christmas sale, but got scared off when I read a review which mentioned several glaring bugs. Given that, and that I've already got 2k9 on PC and got fed up with that one due to the control scheme being stuffed, it didn't seem worth it.

Not trying to hate on the game though - the console version is probably miles better, and it certainly does seem to have left NBA Live behind these days.

Shooting is still based off of timing on the stick. You need to change your player's motion for shooting; chances are the one you're using has a release motion too fast for you.

Biggest negative in the game is the lack of minutes in My player mode. Hilariously after a few games into the season; Clark Kellogg starts complaining about how low the team is scoring. Typically the only things you rate in when they call up season stats is FT%, Team FG%, FG% and base stats like BPG and SPG.

Good idea being able to make your own guy but it would be nice to play 8-10 minute quarters.

My 7'3" Centre is lucky to average 10ppg and 8rpg a season despite the crazy skill stats he has.

There do seem to be a few glitches in the game in My Player mode. I made the NBA, but got sent back to the D-League and then after dominating the D-League (averaging a triple double) for a season and a half still got no call up, I went online and found many people have had the same thing happen. One guy was in his third D-League season and Averaging 40 points, 20 boards, 15 assists and 8 steals and still not getting called up.

I restarted a new career and have since remade the NBA and just got a triple double in my 10th game. The insider tells me after every game that I have some important desicions to make about these teams that are interested in me, but no where can I see who it is or how I make my 'important desicion'.

Other than than, I'm really enjoying it.

So if it's not the most recent version (I don't have internet access to my Xbox), I can't do it? Just checked, and there is no "minutes per qtr" switch in the Presentation menu?

Hey just curious, am i missing something, or in MY PLAYER mode can you only play 5 minute quarters?? Is there a way you can change it to 12 minute qtrs?? Any help would be cool thanx.

I think it is definitely worth purchasing.

Jokes aside, agree with your write up there Bizzy, now it makes sense the lack of posts lately, the My Player mode. Have you made NBA yet?

Love the updated rosters every time a trade in real life is made, and also like the fact if a player in real life is in a slump eg Salmons, it is reflected in the game as well.

Also the NBA today feature is cool where you can play games that were actually played that day.

Great game IMO.
