mystro, not much difference between his average 21.4 and 49 against the 36ers, haha. No matter who scores 49 points, you have to ask the question, who is guarding him? Especially if his average is a "mere" 21.4.

I disagree EC, the 36ers were well in the hunt till the last quarter and as far as Penney's performance against Townsville, the Crocs are sitting third on the table for a reason, they have been playing good ball at both ends all season.
Penney is averaging a league high (again) 21.4 points per game, he is always going to score points no matter who the opposition is.

If you put Penney's performance into perspective, then you possibly could have given it to Williams. Penney didn't earn his 49 points, the 36ers handed it to him on a silver platter. Look at his performance tonight against Townsville. Not even half the score Adelaide allowed him to get away with. Like someone else posted in another thread, its not difficult to score against the 36ers. They make anyone's stats look good.

I think the article is trying to say that Williams is unlucky that Penney produced that kind of performance, because any other week in the NBL, he (williams) would be Player of the Week.
It's not saying that he deserves to win it over Penney, just saying that he was unlucky because any other normal week he would be crowned POW
