Nowitzki to opt out and joint the Free Agent queue

If he doesn't resign with Dallas will he get a Max contract?? I would assume yes considering all the teams that have huge capspace but is he really worth a long term max contract? I think alot of players are going to get grossly overpaid this free agency period.

Please excuse my ignorance; Which players [generally] are ineligible to play in the reserves, if any? i.e. If a player usually starts in their corresponding ABA team, but in a particular week doesnt start (injury/team discipline/lack of form or does not play at all) are they eligible to play for the reserves the following Tuesday?
