Hoops FNBL 2010/11
if there is any late withdraws for todays? draft let me know, ill be happy to stand in, and reliable season player. Cheers

anyone who missed out, jump on ozhoops FNBL, we are looking for 4 more players to join League 4 before the draft, which starts in 10 days (fri, Oct 1st).
Thanks for the offer anyway skip, have a fun season!

Haha, not questioning anyones dedication personally ox, my concern is that if we are getting people to join just to fill the numbers, they are probably less likely to see the season out, especially if they aren't winning.
This makes it crap for those who are playing properly when it comes to things like trying to arrange trades and more importantly, the good fun banter involved.
I don't want to run it with fewer numbers for a few reasons.
1. I already have a speadsheet set out for 8 and it is a pain in the arse to do them differently.
2. It takes a bit of the skill out of it as you don't have to rely so much on making sure you pick the right lesser known players to complete your roster as the talent isnt spread as much.
3. It also wouldnt be fair to have the league winners play off against each other for the same reason as above.
I'll keep the League 2 option open for a few more days and we'll see what happens.

Is checking the site 10 times over the last 24hrs dedicated enough? Im pretty keen if there is a spot available to play... Even if it is reduced numbers?

Agreed Isaac, the too small argument isnt really valid in the NBL. Sure Schensher will tower over Balls but Balls will run rings around him away from the hoop!
That being said Petrie is happy to get in the paint and mix it physically with anyone whereas I see Ballinger as being more of a finesse player who likes to do his damage outside the keyway.
No doubt both coaches know how to get the best out of their players.

Yep Pero V is signed at the Blaze, Id expect him to be used sparingly and Petrie will play a lot of time at C

More is required, but I am reluctant to go ahead with the 2nd league with people who arent keen and dedicated.
There is nothing worse in this sort of Fantasy league than when people drop off during the season.
and it is a little time consuming on my part as well.

Last chance as its almost five o'clock. We are still a couple short for League 2 to get the go ahead.

I do not know him either, but he beat us all last year, so has now become the hunted..

Still got until 5pm today to register your interest for League 2.
In the meantime, feel free to have a look at the current player list I have and see if I have missed anyone or you think that someone is in the wrong position. With a lot of the Swingmen, I have had to go forward rather than guard with them to ensure there is close to equal number of each. Everyone will be required to draft 2 centres, 4 forwards and 4 guards.

Big Sexy - They have pretty much summed it up. You can trade players between teams and recruit free agents.
And as discussed, if your player has 2 games in the one round, you earns points from both games. It means you have to select your line up carefully as you may have players not playing at all one week.
X - If I was confident the draft could be done in 10 days, I would say yes. I will have a look at last years draft and get back to you.

For League 1 folk, here is something for you to start thinking about.
the draft order will be the reverse of last seasons finishing order. Meaning Bizzy has the #1 draft pick.
DRAFT ORDER
Bizzy
TR
Beantown
skip
DB5
Lockie
Statman
Xztatik

I guess with an extra team (Syd) in this year there will be more scope to do some trades as there will be more players left without a team.
TR - any early indications on who you like as your initial imports this year? I just want to be sure I keep away from them!

In, and Google would be preferred.
Skip, as long as it is as good as last year, all will be happy mate.
Thanks!

Id like to join this year if thats ok?
There is also another FNBL run on ozhoops if anyone would like to join there too? We are looking for a few (5) new entries to fill our last league there.
Cheers

Beantown - last season they were purely classed as just Forwards (no distinction between between small or power)
We didnt offer the Guard/Forward or Forward/Centre option though. Mostly to make it a little easier on me.
I'll be putting a player list together over the next few days, so I will look at it then.

Just confirming I'm in and would prefer Google groups.
Also, just wondering if we will have enough players this season that we can allow some to be selected at more than one position? (Eg, Holmes would be a PF or a SF)
If it can be done, it would make it easier to do trades. Last season it was very hard to trade because you had no real flexibility in your roster.
Obviously, we'd have to agree positions before the season, with the Commish's word being final and no changes in season.
What do you think guys?

As it is a lot harder to post PDFs and Spreadsheets on FB, I am leaning towards Google groups again.
X - Sorry, I actually meant the following weekend. I intended to start the day after the AFL Grand Final.
