
Drafting out of High School
The Banker, Jennings was eligable. The kid played in Italy and Europe after finishing High School for a few years.
Would have gone to College but chose to travel instead.

Under the above comments that means Brandon Jennings shouldnt even be in the NBA.
He has not completed 1 year in college and he not an international players.
without knowing the exactly workding of the rule its something in the lines of
A player cannot be drafted by a NBA club until they are at least 12 month out of High School. This allows players to play College or overseas in that 12 months.
This helps mature the athlete both physically and mentally for the pressures of playing NBA.


Not anymore. They made a compulsory rule now that all Draftees have to have attended 1 year of College or have played something like 2-3 years of International Basketball to be eligable.
Helps increase the number of mature players that enter the league and improves the overall quality of the talent. There's been more discussion about whether or not to force it to 3-4 years of Int experience or 2 years min in College.

NBA instigated a minimum 1 year in college rule for US High School players - hence the "one and done" terminology now widely used.
