I'm happy just to be able to come across these things.
It tickled me.
Playing church and fluked a few points on Harcus n Alan Hughes.
Later a little jolt of South metro A, training with
Ahmatt and other olympians was a kick for me....

The 60's....like a flying saucer landed,,,,everybody heard about it, but very few actually saw it.
I love hearing about it.
I wouldn't call myself a Basketballer.
That might put me in a class with people like Maher and Green. Hey , name them - Michael Ahmatt, Werner Linde, Mike Dancis, Glen Marsland, Scot Davey,Ken Richardson.......
It was the only thing I could do.
I wasn't good at anything else.
I reminisced about my early days.
I wasn't a very good Police Cadet but the police bus would come to Fort Largs and take us to St Clair to play basketball games all day on wednesdays.
How good was that. Getting paid to play the game I loved.... Easter carnivals..I love this game.

I seem to remember St johns Ambulance had a team called the Saints at St Clair (wore black and white)?

Port Adelaide or Port Districts, cannot remember their exact name. I believe an import, name of ? Smith tried to change to them from West Adelaide but immigration stopped it as it contravened his visa. Possibly the other Phil smythe was the coach - it was all a long time ago.
