Could Pero Cameron make it as an NBL coach?
Leon Henry has come along in leaps and bounds but I don't think NZ have room for him, would be a great affordable pick up for another team.

Yes, he did a good job getting Webster, Tait, Henry, etc. in sync in the offense.
But defensively, there were terribly out of sync. Out of all the 6 playoff teams, they had the worst PA total. (Which shouldn't have happened considering they had a very big front court with Johnson, Maxey, Adams and Frank).
A good coach knows that there is two concepts to the game- Offense and Defense.
You can get away with been a pure offensive coach in the NBL, but in the ANBL your defensive deficiencies will be exposed constantly.
On a side note, Leon Henry deserves to be an ANBL player, he can shoot the lights out, defend, pass, rebound and he has tremendous size at 6"7. Would be a great swingman in the league.
Wonder if the Breakers are looking at him.?

Alot of good coaches around that aren't in Head coaching jobs at the ANBL level.
Dean Vickerman is a very good coach for the Waikato Pistons (and assistant with the Breakers) Shawn Dennis assistant coach of the Wildcats and ex coach of the HB Hawks, Ryan Weisenberg coach of Manwatu Jets (ex-LA Lakers Scout, Kenny Stone coach of the Pirates another very good one, as with Richard Dickel from Southland.
Im not saying that Pero won't be a very good coach, because I think he will. I just don't think he is ready right now; He has to be an Assistant for a few more years, and learn a bit more stuff before he is fully ready for a head coaching job.
"He played to the saints strength".
Well, thats not rocket science to work out. He had quick Guards like Webster, Tait and Henry as well as mobile big men such as Frank, Maxey and Kareem Johnson.
Any coach would be able to recognise that an uptempo game was their strength. In fact, youd be a fool if you couldn't recognise that!
"There are no really good coaches in the anbl so I think he will get his chance if he wants it."
Um..Gordie McLeod, Rob Beveridge, Aaron Ferne (Did a great job to get Cairns to the Finals last season), Joey Wright

No, His Wellington Saints team were extremely talented. Not saying he didn't help in some way, but there were very noticeable holes in his gameplan.
Very similar to Lemanis--Took on an extremely talented team and was made to look better than he was.
He coaches a very good offensive game, and his Saints team were deadly in transition and in their primary offences (shots within the first 10 seconds of the shot clock)--They averaged 96.8ppg a game which is crazy in a 40min game
But defensively they were terrible. gave up an average of 88ppg. Some of their rotations were poor, rebounding etc.
As a head coach, you need to be good in both offense and defense, however Pero isn't.
Not yet anyway, but he will learn and down the track he has the potential to be a very good one.
