Tigers reportedly ask Corletto to repay money
this sounds like the tigers thought no one would want him with the rosters as packed as they were until NZ had some space following the sacking. Corletto should be able to get out of this one. looks like corletto wont be returning to the tigers ever again.

Jacob is studying law so he should be well versed in contract and employment law.
IMO, without seeing the fine print, I think the Tigers might actually owe Corletto, so if I was him, I wouldn't be writing a cheque out just yet.
So, Tigers sign Mills, then Tigers deactivate Corletto, saying he will be paid to train with the team, but is free to explore options with other clubs. He accepts that contractual arrangement and during the two month period he works for the club, attends every training, does clinics and promotional appearances, etc.
Corletto then signs with the Breakers. (presumably informs Tigers as required), then Tigers, via Seamus McPeake, asks him to refund the last two months of his employment payments.
If Corletto fulfilled his part of the agreement by representing the Tigers as a Tiger Player with full knowledge of the club during that period, and the Tigers have made a single payment, then that payment confirms that the Tigers accept that he is in their employ and accept the conditions of his employment.
Now, unless there was a clause in the contract specifically asking for re-imbursement should he sign to another club or via other condition breaches, I see there to be little grounds for a repayment of wages. In the absence of a specific player contract, one expects the standard NBL player contract to be in force and I doubt if such a condition would apply.
I suspect that he was possibly part way through the next month when his employment ceased and so should be entitled to at least part month payment. One presumes that redundancy payments or leave entitlements do not apply, but if they do he should expect some form of remuneration in this regard.
Therefore, unless there was a specific pay back clause or a clause demanding payback for other reasons which he breached, I doubt if the Tigers could insist on a pay back. Without seeing the playing contract one can't say, but I am sure Jacob will be the best man to help.

Sheamus McDill-Pickle is probably disgruntled because Corletto didn't pick from his list of "Clubs we can handle you going to because you'll have no impact there".

What a joke. Hopefully the NBL backs corletto up on this one. He has done everything right by the league and the tigers by bowing out professionally and moving on quickly.
