If they left mid-term due to an illness or other unplanned disaster, then they should be congratulated for their efforts as anyone who puts their hand up to volunteer to help others should receive a pat on the back.

It's only newsworthy if they were sacked, had a massive dummy spit/meltdown, or started sharing a cell with our Flinders Uni mate.
