Blaze vs Hawks, Rd.18
Last night the refs let the Blaze get away with a lot of over physical play, just like they did against Cairns last week.
And can someone tell Steve Carfino to go take a hike please? In the 2nd last night Tyson Demos grabbed a defensive rebound and started off to get the Hawks attacking. In doing so he ran (pretty hard I might add) smack bang into the shoulder of Stephen Hoare (who has 10cm on Demos so it was a shoulder to chin contact). Demos went flying but managed to stay on his feet and Carfino then proceeded to accuse Demos of acting and trying to get a foul. If he was doing that he would not have stayed on his feet...
And when did it become legal to jump into the air, then after landing you start dribbling toward the basket? Do refs actually know what travel is?
Also the same ref who allowed the blatant travel also called the Hawks for a 5 second inbound violation. Gordie McLeod was dead right in asking about that because the violation was called after only 3 seconds...

Hawks looked bad. Real bad. Second lowest team score in team history. Lowest made FG in team history, 3rd lowest FG% in team history..

As has been rumoured practically since the Blaze emerged, Daniel Joyce and Tyson Demos will be joining the new Gold Coast side this NBL season.
The NBL have a bit more info about Demos.
At just 18 years of age Demos has reached 192cm and performs brilliantly as a guard that can catch and shoot the three and is a valuable asset as a defender. Tyson was also in the Top 10 in three-point shooting at the 2006 Australian junior championships and played a huge role in the gold medal winning game.Full story on NBL.com.au
