Western Conference in the NCAA finals
I honestly think all three will make it...BYU winning at Gonzaga may prove crucial.

I accept your different point of view, but I still don't see Saint Mary's as struggling - and I have watched many, but not all of their games. Have SMC left it late to shake teams in the last 5-10 minutes of games - in some more recent games that has certainly been the case.
I believe a good team does what it needs to do to win in any circumstance. For that reason alone I don't consider them struggling. They have just "turned it on" when thy needed to to get the win, and in most cases have still won in convincing fashion.

Saint Mary’s retained their place in the national polls despite losing to Gonzaga last week. The Gael’s are now ranked #16 in the ESPN/USA Today poll and #21 in the Associated Press poll.
If anything, Gonzaga’s win over Saint Mary’s reinforced the status of the top WCC teams as the Zag’s re-entered the rankings at #24 in both the ESPN/USA Today and Associated Press polls.

The only thing that guarantees a berth in the NCAA tournament for WCC teams is to win the WCC Tournament. Topping the WCC regular season does not guarantee an automatic berth, although past hiastory says that the WCC reguklar season champion will be given an at-large berth in the NCAA tournament.
SMC has a sweep over BYU, and is 1-1 against Gonzaga. If SMC wins the regular season WCC conference title, they will almost certainly earn an at-large bid. Win the WCC tournament and the bid is assured as the WCC has 1 automatic tournament spot secured.
It is definitely possible SMC, Gonzaga and BYU could make the tournament...Gonzaga and BYU's non-conference help their cause for an at-large bid. Ultimately BYU may possibly need to win the WCC tournament to ensure a berth at the NCAA tournament, with SMC and Gonzaga likely to receive at-large tickets, especially if SMC closes out regular season play without another loss.
And who says SMC is struggling??? The Gael's lost to Gonzaga in the last 5-10 minutes after going basket for basket. They then bounced back to easily defeat Santa Clara...The Gael's are a tournament team - make no mistake about that.

Guys, I'm confused.
If the Gaels win the West Coast Conference, don't they automatically get into the final 64?
Or do they need to win the Championship play-offs to be certain of being in?
Is the bracket-buster a 'just in case' for if they end the season badly?

Thanks for alerting me to the TV games, Anon12. I'll be watching them both.
Bit nervous about the Murray State game - shades of the Zags?

Can the Pistons stop Lebron James after his stunning 48 point demolition of the Pistons last game?
We'll
never forget LeBron's 48-Point Game
With the Cavaliers upm 3-2 playing at home, can Cleveland advance? Or will the Pistons comeback to snatch the next two?
My tip is the Piston by 15, James will score 27 points
