Main reason why people don't make it out to Wollongong is because they were losing. In the 'Gong you have a core crowd of 3 - 3.5k that turn up no matter how much the team sucks. But the other 1 - 2k only show up if the team is winning. In this case it was to show Soup off.
In saying that, much like the Gold Coast, sometimes it may take half a season for the crowds in Wollongong to realise their team is winning.
Actually same as the Dragons.

The crowd figures from match reports summed and averaged up don't match what the NBL published in that link. Do they know how to count?
