Crocs on the ropes?
Calling the people of Townsville 'losers' if they dont come to the semi against Cairns was the last straw for me. The club under smythe is arrogant in its dealings with the community and ignorant of grass roots level support.
I visited my niece in Cairns with her children who attend Tiny Taipans on Saturday's and the place was packed !!! They had Loughton, Rychart and Grabau hands on with the little kids and then they hung around to help with the bigger kids. No wonder Cairns had the 3rd best attendances this year and still growing. Instead of complaining all the time about what the Crocs dont have, focus on what you have - a really good basketball team that has made the playoffs again and reconnect with the community. Winning on the court isn't everything.

Want people to come to the basketball, get involved in the local junior competitions, let the kids know that their local NBL team cares about them and over a short period of time you will generate a whole new generation of followers.
Kids want to go with their mates and they have a ball at NBL games, but what is the Croc's market, is it corporate, is it male fans, female fans, couple or families.....?
This is not rocket science, even a losing team can make the effort to connect with the community, try that and see how it goes guys, just might work!!

Question is - Is this real? Or is it just a public cry to get some support for a new building?
Although this season i did notice a large drop off wit crowds (on TV)
