I do not agree withholding a team from playing because they are late- that defeats the purpose of the competition.
From a business point of view- BASA is in need of money. Fine clubs a certain amount each team they are late nominating.
This has been a neverending problem for a number of years, not only with State Champs, but normal season also.
If BASA dont take some intiative instead of being walked all over, the problem will continue.

Injuries are always going to happen, so its something you have to be prepared for. Most teams should have around eight players anyway. Plus kids working- most workplaces have a roster system where they can write their non-availability. So they aren't 2 very good reasons why not.
Nominations should close early April, around Easter carnival, giving people enough time to organise- its called time management.

How bout BASA puts the nomination date for teams earlier, therefore giving them more to adjust if needed to due to clubs being late with nominations or teams pulling out. This way they have time to play with a little, and can get the programs out earlier, allowing parents and kids to organise work, study etc, and referees to be organised.

Anonymous- pls don't take this personally, but it seems that every problem is only partly BASA's fault and the majority of blame to others.
You suggest I start at club level- just goes to show that you know even less about me than I know about you.
When can we expect a program- after all, BASA have some full-time employees-don't they?

domestic competition. what a great idea, and they could call it City South...
kudos to Sturt and Forestville
