Best basketball team the AFL could put up?
After all the hype last year about the AFL recruiting US basketballers, does anyone know how those recruited are actually doing?
Have any of them played AFL yet?

That's a shirt-load of good talent you've mentioned, but could any of them have made NBL or even the Boomers?

Adam Ramanauskis.. Had enormous potential as a junior baller at Dandenong. May have played Vic Metro U16s in around 1995? He chose footy quite early though so maybe not..
Although he only played 3 games for Adelaide, a guy called Brent Williams drafted by the Crows in around 1996 and was a top ten draft pick.. Couldn't get a regular game in Blight's team that went back-to-back in 97/98.. Played Vic Metro U16s and 18s and was the best shooting guard in the country at junior level. He should have stuck with the round ball!

Yeah, I played against Chad last year in Knockout. Great handles, good foot speed and some nice hops to go with it!

Great thread hoopie!
What about an AFL bball team of the century?
Brogan captain/coach. Only bloke ever with championships in both! That will last forever (even though he had minimal impact with the 36ersthat year)
Who else?

If someone could teach Buddy Franklin a few post moves, try stopping him in the low block! Would also be quite handy running the floor..
Tony Shaw used to play men's A or B grade at Nunawading with Graeme Wright, Tony Morwood and a few other Collingwood players from the early 90s. They were rubbish. We used to spank them with a team of U16/18 Spectres/Rangers benchies..

Maybe BA could organise a curtain-raiser for a big game sometime - something like AFL stars vs NBL Legends or an SEABL team.
Even if you reckon they might be a bit small, they can still out-jump and out-run and out-muscle most players below NBL. (I played against the Collingwood guys in the off-season and we got monstered.)

Goorj putting the acid on absent stars, good to see!!
