16 National Championships
Anon 370316 Assume you are talking about the Boys?
Were you there at the Championships? I don't know where you get your observations from. If the SA & NSW Metro teams skills were better than Vic Metro, then surely one (if not both) of these teams should have played off in the final??
As for the shooting %, check the website, Vic Metro boys had the best TFG shooting % (followed by NZ, who were a good team). Maybe that is why they won??
Wonder why Q-South made the final, their TFG shooting % was about the 6th best for the tournament and their 3P% & FT% was not great either? While good shooting helps, it's not all about the shooting, defence is an important part as well as "taking on" the game.

Sounds like sour grapes to me. The vics have a huge talent pool, so you would expect them to be better, except for NSW. I think you should just applaud the Vics Development Program. To me it looks like it has been working well and has been for a long time.

Spot on about clubs!!
Rather than concentrating on up skilling kids there are to many coaches running around with NBA size play books, screaming at kids who don't execute!!
If a kid can dribble left handed then teaching then a dozen set plays is a total waste of time! If coaches put their ego and white board away and went back to basics then there would a much stronger base to work from.
Chucking crap at state programs when they aren't properly supported by clubs isnt a fair go.
Sort your own house out first.

Tassie boys did well but stumbled in the semi for second yr running :(
Building to bigger an better.

Predictions
Kyle Clark - triple double - Zack Kilby and Dave Finua to own the paint and Zac Deveruax to dish 10 dimes as Tassie score a HUGE UPSET WIN and make the old medal game!!! Vs Vic County.
Obs
The level of skill and fitness, girls in particular, is hugely lacking.
One AIS coach had a shoe lace untied. They did stop straight away to tie it but I that is 2 dress code strikes!

#370077 you know you cant name minors. But tassie kid can play. Imo girls gold medal game will be qld sth vs nsw met. Boys nsw met(really want qld sth) vs vic met

Finals look interesting... Vic Metro, Vic Country on top of their pools will have to fight off other states, but not NSW - in the boys section anyway!

Over the past few years reviews of Nationals Champs have bemoaned the lack of basic fundamental skills.
To many contested shots or poor shot selection; excessive or unforced turnovers; poor FT shooting, and a raft of defensive deficiencies.
While not all the talents of the 140 Athletes per Gender are reflected in the stats there are certainly are some gaps in the system.
