Quality of NBL TV?

Punters looking for good value, Sixers a chance and were good value at $10.

If the Wildcats lose a few and drift out over $4 watch them become heavily backed and plenty of cover bets go on.

What point are you actually making?

You call yourself a hard core fan, but only watch Sixers games, IMO that's not hard core

You say there is no such thing as goodwill anymore - where in this case I am proof positive there is as I know I can access free steams of NBL if I wanted too but I was happy to pay a subscription and support the league

So as I see it, rather than actually being a hardcore fan your just a bit of a tightarse who wants everything for nothing, and odds are you will be the first to complain when there is no games to watch at all. And rest assured that can happen when the people who have actually been ponying up the $ get sick of funding the freeloaders and take their cash elsewhere

That's irrelevant for the point I'm making

There is no such thing as goodwill to the general consumer any more, especially the way people are spending money at the moment. Think about it.

Paul, I'm not talking about illegal stream websites, I've been talking only of betting site's streams which are very reliable. The problem with say a First Row Sports would be on the host's end, not the actual video coming from the satellite, because I watch a lot of sport on betting sites and their streaming is absolutely fine.

Isaac, $0 for the ability to watch all your own team's games plus all the other games around the league is pretty good IMO.

As I said above, the average fan wouldn't watch as much as me and not nearly as much as you. The NBL has done itself a big injustice not making the games exclusive to NBL TV because the average fan wouldn't pay when they can catch every game on either Sportsbet or TV. Have a think about it, people don't like spending money.

I agree with other posters above.

After many years of no coverage or support for the NBL, someone is finally supporting Australian Basketball, are providing a service we have never had before & inturn, NBL.TV deserve our support, not negative comments.

Compared to the cost of anything these days, surely $59 or even $79 for a whole season’s entertainment (about 50 cents per game) is good value, particularly if you are a basketball fan. I think the league and NBL.TV have been extremely generous with this pricing.

I initially started watching the 36ers v NZ game via a laptop which has a basic graphics card and the stream was stop / start & picture quality was poor, which I agree is frustrating.

I then down loaded the NBL.TV app and watched via a tablet. The streaming was very smooth & picture quality was good. I now plan on getting a cable to connect the tablet to the TV via HDMI cable as suggested in a previous thread.

The quality was even better again (same as normal TV) watching on a phone which is much newer than the tablet. I am not sure if anyone has tried to watch via a phone connected to a TV but would be interested to hear whether the same high quality transfers to the TV.

The different quality I received was during the same game & over the same internet connection (at one stage the 2 were running at the same time, so it definitely wasn’t the feed), therefore I assume the difference in quality related only to the different quality of hardware I was using & there is nothing wrong with the feed.

I noticed there was about a 20 second delay in the feed via the app on the tablet compared to the internet, which although not a negative, was odd.

Each game is a full production, including commentary & the picture quality was good (once I started watching via tablet / newer hardware), so I think NBL.TV is doing a great job, especially for 50 cents per game & would recommend to anyone looking to subscribe & ultimately support the NBL.

Can u watch the game on demand even if the game has started? Both times, clicked play and i missed the start of the games. Do u have to wait till it comes up in the on demand?

Have watched every game either live or via replay predominately on the ipad and absolutely loving it.

Home internet for me is a 3G dongle that gets 1-2mb connection - far from fantastic yet NBL TV still works a treat.

Occasionally it is stuttering at the start I will pause it for 30 odd seconds and than play and it resumes where i left off and runs fine, no idea if it buffers or the working behing it but works great for me and I'm loving being able to watch other teams not just the Sixers.

I will admit I have watched both Sixers games more than once utilising the replay ;)

Sorry I retract the above comment, he's obviously a quality bloke.

Isaac, that's not the point. Apart from watching replays of my favourite team's game, I don't use NBL TV. I'm a hardcore fan, so I can't imagine a regular fan using it more than me. It's almost like paying $59/$79 dollars to watch one/two replays per week - games I have already seen live. Unless you're the type who lights your Cuban cigar with a flaming $100 bill, you wouldn't pay that amount of money just to support the cause, would you? Come on.

I feel that I have got $59 value from NBL TV already. I strongly recommend anyone with a passing interest in basketball get it.

Mate, I don't know if I would bother. Sportsbet.com.au are streaming the Breakers and taipans games tonight. With that, I'm guessing they televise all the games 'exclusive' to NBL TV. I'm a bit surprised and disappointed by that after already buying NBL TV.

Depends on your internet speed. If you have a good speed it will be normal TV quality. If you have crap speed then.. Well i dont need to be captain obvious.

Laptop to TV via HDMI with the audio to your home stereo set up is the best.
