Ariel84, All I have said is what I consider to be the position and that was he was appointed as an interim coach.

If he has quit because he thinks his position is untenable, then there are massive red flags. If he has been sacked, then one would expect an alternative coach selected and be in place. If that is not the case, then going into an ABL season with instability in the coaching position will not be considered optimal.

I quite agree. It does not reflect well on the club.

Ariel84, that might be the case. Let's look at the circumstances. A new coach gets appointed after due process has been undertaken. Job advertised, candidates selected, interview, and then job offers made. He then quits.

ABL season is close and there's no time to advertise. A club needs to act quickly and so appoints Janx22 (without any advertising/interviews etc) so that the team can continue to function.

The club might have then rolled this into a more permanent appointment and avoid the hassle. Maybe they did, but I have find any press release or post stating that to be the case.

On the 19th of Feb, he was announced as an interim coach. A week is a long time in sport.

From the 19th Feb and on their website:

"The Women's side has had a somewhat unsettling preparation with the late addition of INTERIM Head Coach, Andrew Jantke. The team has had an amazing couple of years taking the program from perennial cellar dwellars to back to back finals series. MVP of the league last season Jess Mahoney returns for the Lions as does the ever dominant Lill Keane who is set to have her biggest year yet. Coach Jantke believes that the Women will have lots of challenges before them but are an amazingly competitively, resilient group and any challenges will only make them stronger. Coach Jantke is hopeful of making a major addition to the squad in the coming weeks, stay tuned for more information."

194, check the press releases issued by Centrals, I think it's pretty clear that interim is used to described the appointment. He might have been formally appointed at a later date, but interim is used.

He is only an interim coach.

One would have thought that after trying to control 150+ boys, trying to control a dozen mature women would have been a breeze.
