R19: Sixers @ Cairns
Marcus is a shit stirring wanker. Just ignore him. Advice I give my 8 year old students.

Petrie really is the hero of the Sixers IMO. He has shown true grit this season and is always an offensive threat. Defensively, he is the guy in defence you don't want to have on you and the rebounds he gets are the tough rebounds that are "tough ball rebounds".

good win by Sixers. Big shots by Gibson & Cadee at the end.
Cairns were a bit fatigued from the game the night before, they had so many open looks in last 5 mins and didn't hit any of them. Sixers effort great but very lucky as Cairns couldn't finish them off.
Last time Sixers won was when Schensch got injured.

Just finished watching the replay - was an entertaining game to watch and great to see the sixers get a win. A really gutsy effort considering the dissapointing season, it would have been easy to pack it in at half time, down 18 and on the road but there was some serious heart shown by the players tonight.
Petrie was a warrior all game, I personally hink he is underated offensively, he is extremely versatile having a good inside game and relable jumpshot with range that extends to the three point line. Gibson was clutch down the stretch and Johnson kept the pressure on the Taipans Bigs all game. Also a clutch shot by Cadee - he doesn't seem afraid to take and make the big shot - a great quality in a young player, he hit a huge 3 against the Wildcats at Perth Arena earlier in the year also . The offense looked best tonight in the 4th with the simplicity of Gibson coming off the on-ball screen set by either Petrie or Johnson and the creating from there. I'm not really sure why the coaching staff have persisted all year with complex offensive sets when the team has always looked better when simpler plays are run and the players are given more freedom.
The sixers still gave up far too many offensive boards with Cairns outrebounding us 50-37. We would have won this game far more comfortably if we were able finish of our defensive sets. This was the reason for the loss to Perth last week and should have been addressed by the coaches throughout the week. It will be interesting to see if there is an improvement in this area in our next matchup.

Interestingly Marcus Camby attributed the win to Clarke. Was it Clarke putting up all those shots in during the game? Was definitely him in the first half then. All those missed shots. Nowhere on your posts do u credit success to the players, nowhere!
Shame MC shame! Without them, ?????

@Marcus how do you know the win was because of Marty's coaching. Maybe it was because cairns were tired from playing the night before and getting on a plane at 6.30this morning and getting into Cairns at 11.00. Also helped by the fact 3 of their players were fouled out of the game. I'm glad they got a win the players deserve it and hopefully it's given them some confidence to get some more wins before the season is over. You tell us we can't put all the blame on Marty for a loss so you can't give Marty all the credit for a win it wasn't Marty that took that 3 point shot to win and i bet that wasn't the play he drew up in the time out either.

Yeah after they played a tough game the night before in Sydney. But a win is a win and this one has been a long time coming so i'm going to celebrate for now and see what happens next week.

Great shot Cadee! You beauty!
Brilliant quarter from Gibson and good work from DJ, who shot 11-12 from the line and helped foul Loughton, Grabau and Edwards out of the game.
Petrie was a trooper all game and his shooting kept us in it early.
Cadee a good game as well. Last two times I have seen him on the road and he really seems to play with more confidence away from the BMC.
Sixers looked much better when Gibbo and Cadee were aggressively turning the corner after the pick and driving hard. Would like to see more of that!

Awesome win ,you ripper. Showed awesome fight.

68 - 68 18secs to go

68 - 66 6ers way 30 secs to go

Nice to finally see our boys play well down the stretch! Hope they can close it out!

Was just about to make the same point about Gibbo's 2nd half. Great leader type performance.

I just saw on the U12 Girls 2 ladder that Norwood has gone ahead of southern and north with less points?
I thought that it went on head to head when teams were equal on points.
Have the bylaws changed and no one knows but BSA ?

This is looking much better. Nice to see us come from behind and steal a game, if we can that is!

Jekyll & Hyde! Where was this Sixers team before half time? Hope they can keep it going!

Yep another poor performance thus far. Noone can rebound, noone can make a layup and Cairns are doing as they please, shooting 51% with 28 points in the paint!

@HoldenV8 Glad it actually worked.
Not sure what's worse though...the quality of the stream or Adelaide's play.

looks like we are having our scoring drought early tonight 5 points in 6 mins is woeful

Ah yes I forgot Qld doesnt do dalight savings!
As expected not much defence to be seen thus far. Sixers should really be able to win this w their size adv and w Cairns playing yesterday. Not gonna put money it though!

The game should start just after 8.
Adelaide is 30 minutes in front of Cairns due to daylight saving!

Has anyone got the game up on NBL TV yet? Mine is still saying "live event starting shortly" but would have thought the game has started by now as it's nearly 8pm in Adelaide.

Not sure.
But if it helps I can give you the E.S.T. and explain how to do the conversion.

@holdenV8.... Agree. Right up until you mentioned us winning tonight. I've lost all hope unfortunately.

As Isaac mentioned, if there was any good to come from their abysmal second half of the season, it has certainly already served its use in spades.
Hopefully the rest of the season can be constructive and morale boosting, both for the players and the fans.

Of the two team's last game , Cairns look a little better . Hill an easy double in half a game . Loughton shot pretty good.
(A.Bruce , SYD , seems to drive and dish.)
