Spotted this article in the Northern Territory News:
NBL FRANCHISE: You Decide 2008
The Territory Government has been repeatedly told an NBL franchise in Darwin is there for the taking but for the lack of a 4000-seat stadium.
For the past five years, including the "secret" design phase of the $144million-plus Darwin Convention Centre, our government has ignored calls from the Northern Territory News, an NBL team owner and the league's own boss to build a multi-purposed facility on our "Jewel-in-the-Crown" waterfront. These calls, this newspaper argues, continue to fall on deaf ears in the NT Government.
