Russell was 6'10 I thought? Listed at that on NBA.com.
In response to Beantown yeah I thought it was pretty impressive how quick he moved up the court too. Most of the stuff I have seen on him is slowed down so you can't really see how quick he is. Most of the stuff I have read about him though all talks about how quick and springy he was
Wow, that's the first clip I've seen that really captures Russell's athleticism!
IMO, the more impressive thing than the jump is how quickly he goes coast to coast though. That sort of speed and mobility on a big man would be impressive even in today's NBA, more than 50 years later!
