Steven Adams to declare for NBA draft?
Steve's minder has stated that he has heard that Adams showed the NBA scouts enough skills and potential to get drafted.
I thought they'd test the water and he'd be back at Pitt for another year at least and work on improving so he could go much higher in the following draft class.
NBADraft.Net have Adams potentially going in the 1st round @ #24 to the Pacers.
Draftexpress have him going 1st round @ #19.

No they didn't pursue Basketball because of the lack of money the family had.
Playing sport/developing etc is expensive.
Plus, the lure of alcohol an drugs in NZ is a pretty serious problem..it almost got Steve, but he shook it.

Yes, 18 siblings and heres the amazing fact:
The males heights average 6"9-6"10
The females heights average 6"5-6"6.
All but one of the siblings is over 6"5.
People need to know the facts before judging him. His family are beyond destitution. Literally struggling to live.
At the end of the day, he is going to develop.
This path just means that development will happen in the NBA and not at the college level.
For all the rave Noel gets for being a shotblocker, I must admit Steve absolutely beasted him when they met last year (23pts/10reb)
IMHO, Pitt isn't conducive to Steve's development. He only managed 5.5 shot attempts per game -- and made an impressive 3.1 per game. (57 %)
So frustrating watching those silly guards not give him the ball.
But im not sure whether that was the guards fault for not looking for him often enough or whether that was Dixon's fault for not running more plays through him.

He will test the water
"As a side note, it's interesting to listen to some Kiwis gloating at the misfortunes of Bogut or the playing time struggles of Mills. It sometimes goes beyond light hearted trans-Tasman jibes and becomes full on resentment/envy."
it goes both ways, don't talk them up like they are Jordan.....

Wow, sounds like a noble but silly decision. If he goes anywhere it will be as 2nd round fodder and then he has much less of a chance of sticking

IMO - silly boy....
He has shown glimpses at Pitt but has not yet shown he is an NBA player.
