Whoa, didn't realise he was off contract. Loved watching him go to work.

For Anon@8082's plan to work, we would need the starting five to play serious minutes, which the probably wouldn't be able to do under last year's defensive system. So, I guess we'll see what coach and philosophy we'll be looking at next year.

I think Martin is a 9 on current points, a 10 if he were to resign.

Does anyone know if Burdon would be a 3 or a 1? I've seen both figures floating around.

Silencer makes a good point. Resigning guys like hire etc would be no- brainers, but otherwise your messing with the coaches flexibility. The fact he's a 1-point player must heavily weigh into the decision-making without a coach calling the shots

I'll take a bench player who can't guard but can shoot - there were times during the year that being able to throw a player like that into the mix would have been very, very handy.

Sounds like a very good move for the Wildcats if they can swing it - 1-3pts for what looks like a solid bench addition. Need to find a few like this given how many points we already have nailed down with our starters.

Also, im sure most 36ers fans would agree, all the best with the trials Erik, hope you get a NBL spot, i hope its with the 36ers, but if the Wildcats snap you up, all the best to you, i will watch with great interest.

I like Isaac am also a fan, i wanted the 36ers to get him to replace SC last season once it was clear SC wasnt going to work out, also think he would be a good fit as back up sg this season behind a import sg with Cadee and Gibbo playing pg.

Come on sixers dont lose all the SA talent interstate, he isnt necessarily going to be a star but could play a 'Ng type' role imo. I would like us to have atleast one of Daly or Burdon on our roster next season.

As for height, position, etc off the top of my head he would be a 6'3ish shooting guard, prob between 25 and 30 years old. A good shooter and decent at handling the ball, etc, pretty sure he won the Wollacott a couple of years ago and is doing well in the SEABL. A good, cheap back up sg imo.

Whenever he came on court when Erik was at the Sixers things happened. He was a scoring machine and had a soft touch outside the arc. Have a look at his stats broken down in a per minute play. I could only find his 2009 stats, which were:

9 games @ 3.2 mpg, 2.4 ppg @ 58.3%, 3P% 75% FT 100% (2/2) 0.4 rpg, 0.2 asp, 0.4 spg.

Extrapolated to say a 10 mpg position (a #8 or #9 man?):

7.6 ppg, 1.4 rpg, 0.7 apg, 1.4 spg

He would be a very handy addition to a squad. I would be very disappointed if the Wildcats picked him up and he did a Madgen and caned the Sixers senseless on Brett Maher Court.
