Coaches pet hates
LOL @ JJ "Incompetent Coaching Directors."
JJ, Do you realise how hard some of these people work to achieve a certain Level? Some aim high and do very well at achieving a level 99 of excellence, others try their best, but sometimes the challenge is beyond them. It's sad really because their own failures manifest onto their kids.

Go interstate for a carnival and you hear this NOISE across on another court and you look up and GROAN cause its that certain club and their Coaches' bellowing you know too well

AK47 - fully agree.
I love keen, supportive and realistic parents who turn up and applaud effort and improvement, and I'm blessed with two teams who have these.
However, I hate two types of parents you often see at lower levels:
1. the mynah: comes in, makes a lot of noise, tries to stir up other parents to undermine the coach and drive the agenda, can never be held responsible for the results, and can never be satisfied.
2. the ones who see the coach as baby-sitter, dump their kid at the door, hardly ever come to the game or team social events, and avoid responsibilities like scoring

Bear summed it up perfect with his 3 points.
Other pet hates,
Poor transition D, especially because of lack of effort.
Giving up Offensive Rebounds, because players decide/forget to box out.
Flat out bad shot selection.
Lack of passion/desire/determination to do whatever it takes to win. Why even play a high level of district basketball if you don't care enough about winning but would rather worry about how many points you can score?

It is much easiser to put a toilet seet down than lift it up! Even gravity is on their side and they still have a global whinge about it.

Brussel Sprouts. Oh, and women leaving the toilet seat down... inconsiderate

#1: Training non-attendance.
#2: Ball hogs who dribble from coast to coast and chuck up rubbish (wasted possession)
#3: Ball hogs who don't pass to open players
#4: Players not following simple instructions
#5: Coaches who only see good in their pet players and play favourites
#6: Coaches who destroy the self esteem of players you get the season after.

Mine's more mundane - players who don't turn up to practice, but who I can't afford to leave on the bench for the whole game, so they know they can get away with not turning up.
