"Basketball Australia Chief Executive Officer Kristina Keneally said Canberra – fast becoming a mecca for basketball in Australia – would be a fitting host for the FIBA Oceania Championships, one of the biggest tournaments on the high performance calendar."

Really? Canberra fast becoming a mnecca for Australian basketball? Since when? just because the AIS/CoE islocated there does not make it a mecca! The town was unable to sustain an NBL team...
