Should 6ers play home game in bris or GC?

This is what the Victoria Titans tried and it failed. This is what the Victoria Giants tried and it failed.

Its risky, and given the NBL is really on a knife's edge, id be inclined to pass. However it does sound tempting in Brisbane for one game, and choose it against a NSW team in Sydney or Wollongong.

It's an interesting concept and I guess it could be explored before it is thrown on the heap.

The Brisbane/Gold Coast market is untapped at the moment and with the Sixers having a number of former Blaze players, there could be some support for a team up there, or support for a team that gives them some attention.

As far as playing a home game there, I doubt if it would be viable, but could the Sixers somehow tap into the sentiment of former GC supporters by organising a special "tour down under" for a group of them?

Instead of the Sixers going to them, have a game where they catch a plane down, get treated like royalty, meet the players, have a shoot around, a light lunch in the Apollo Room, and then watch the game. Kind of a "reverse road trip". Could even be a money making thing if done right.

The only question would be "what are the tangible benefits?"

Works in the NBA where teams play 41 home games..therefore missing one is not the end of the world.

But NBL teams play much less home games. Cant afford to miss one.

Don't know why AFL supporters aren't throwing their toys out of the cot. Teams are going to Wellington and Launceston...id be pretty upset.
