Big V State Champ Men GF
Stingrays win the championship 91 to 86 in front of a big and vocal home crowd. Was another fantastic game and went down to the wire again. Even though it didn't go to 3 games, the league couldn't have asked for a better finals series
Eric Williams named finals MVP

Very nice moment, great composure by Jason Reardon to nail that last floater from the 3, not travelling in the process; and not to forget the awesome rebounding effort with a heads up delivery down the court from import Eric Williams under the pressure of a double team...
The youtube highlight video has topped over 2,200 views, nice!
Good work FalconsTV, should be another cracker this weekend down at South Geelong...

Those who said it would be a one sided affair were completely wrong. Never underestimate Ringwood, they are one tough unit.
Game 2 is going to be an absolute beauty especially after the game 1 finish. The video has gone viral and so it should with a great finish to end game 1 of a grand final.
Stingray Stadium is going to be open for all, no limit for attendance.
VP, best to get there quite early if you are after a seat or you can hit up the bar and stand at court 2.

Big effort to win the first one, let's hope the local media in Geelong get on board and really pump it up!!
Should be a massive basketball weekend in Geelong next week, but will probably be overshadowed by footy again...

What a fantastic game 1. Stingrays got up by 2 thanks to a Jason Reardon 3 pointer runner to beat the buzzer. In the lead up to that Ringwood missed 4 free throws in the dying seconds, which probably cost them the game. In saying that Stingrays didn't shoot well from the charity stripe all game and thought that could have bit us on the butt. The game was basket for basket and a real arm wrestle but in the end the Stingrays got the crucial first win.
Ma'alo Hicks was the star with 31 points and 11 rebounds.
Was a massive crowd and a very loud one and after the exciting game 1, game 2's crowd will be MASSIVE especially down at Stingray Stadium where they already average 400 to regular season games.
Bring it on!

It shouldn't be about the refs. No one wants to rock up to a grand final and watch a free throw contest. It should be about the players playing the game and putting on a show and allowing the best team on the night win the game. Let the boys play!

I watched game 2 and there was a major reason why there was no flow in the game and that was because the game was over reffed. 50 fouls in a game prevents a good spectacle. It was a stop start game and very frustrating to watch and would be to play with a lot of calls being made that were very questionable. In game 1, the refs put the whistle away and it allowed for a good free flowing game and therefore a high scoring game with plenty of entertainment.
Ringwood did give Stingrays a good spanking mid season. A good wake up call for the Rays. Both teams are extremely tough at home and Stingrays having home court advantage for the series could make it the difference.
Eric Williams is on fire of late, will be interesting to see how Ringwood try and stop him.
