Big V CEO role - not yet advertised?
Will this job exist in the future?

Just been told that Justin Nelson is in line for the job. Could this be true or is it just another rumour?

If the structure is anything like that of an Association it may look like this (basic form only):
Clubs are represented by their nominated delegate.
The elected board runs the league's meetings under their model rules and decides on who will be CEO.
CEO manages the league supported by others and answers to the board who in turn liaise and cooperate with the clubs advising them and sharing reports via their delegates.
Or at least in some similar fashion to this...

The business and management model has changed quite a bit at Geelong. They had the merger of basketball Geelong with the Supercats and then quite a few changes at board level along the way.
Everyone involved did a lot of work and those who left can hold their heads high through their efforts.
What is happening at the moment is really positive and the process we are going through down here appears to be one of clearer communications, better understanding with a structure that could really take the Association a long way if the leadership is sound.
The key here is our relationship with council as the stadium is completely under council control and ownership, so if that cooperative can work towards one goal it will shape the future (hopefully for the kids to come)!
Watch this space, I guess...

@Happy Days, previous CEO probably took on too much and the support network around him could have been better. It was a transition period and he did lots of work, but probably ended up with too much himself!
That said, if you are a leader you need to inspire others to lead by having them taking on a task with the confidence to follow through without being mirco managed.
New CEO is from a media background, that could be a good thing, regardless it is crucial to be a leader and not fall into a trap of doing it all yourself I believe...
Let's face it basketball is a unique political and sporting environment isn't it?? Not an easy job running it I would imagine.

Touchy, yes, but anon' has a point here. Recent appointment at Geelong was a good one from outside basketball, should serve as an example...
