"However, this NBA analysis suggests that benching primary players to avoid foul trouble hampering their game is generally the right move, especially for bigs."
One would guess a large part of that is due to them playing to keep out of foul trouble, rather than to win. If they know they're staying out there regardless of how many fouls they get, they're less likely to be tentative. It's essentially become a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Why do you need him in the fourth any more than you need him any other time? If you're going to be in the same position late in the fourth quarter regardless of whether or not a certain player has played, or how many minutes that player has played, that player is adding no value to your team and there's no point having them on the court anyway.
If they are adding value, you're going to be in a worse position in the fourth if you leave them on the bench than if you play them. You can bench them, let the game run away from you, and play them in garbage time, or you can put them on the floor and risk it. If they foul out early, you're at least in with a chance.
Alternatively, you put them in and get out to an insurmountable lead, so it doesn't matter when they foul out.

Why was tragardh out this weekend other than to screw over my dream team?
Great work by 'Balls'. Gotta give the man some court time!

Northern Brew: "when Young made those errors and Loughton is sitting on the bench in foul trouble theres not much he can do against a big Tigers team."
He could've put Loughton back in. Would you rather win the game, or finish it without any of your players fouling out?

How many games does Hill need to prove himself. He has now logged over 200 games at multiple clubs now at his 4th and was at the 36ers twice. If he ain't done it by now, by when will he do it?

Ballinger shooting stroke looking good again since those ankle injuries. Tigers getting a lot of momentum and next 3 games should go 2 of 3.

anon. Being sarcastic regarding Hill and Forman. The point is we don't talk about their potential anymore, yet Weigh year after year is talked up by Carfino and crew.

On Tens commentary Carfino used the line "Steve Weigh got confidence in the win over the Kings. Just waiting for him to erupt" (He will be waiting a while).
How long until Carfino gets over Weighs potential? The guy is nearly a veteran.
I guess Brad Hill is a rookie and Oscar Forman a development player.
