Deng to wear #9 for Cavs

But what about all the sold Delly jerseys? Would be a real collector's item now...

It is know for many years that during trades, numbers which new players want are sometimes already taken.
Usually there is a monetary arrangement - so the existing players sells his number. I read somewhere someone paid $30000 for his number when he was traded back in the 90's totally forgot the name.
I hope Delly got a little something for this.
Great teammate.

My guess would be #4, since that's what he wore in his college days. I'm pretty sure no one else on the Cavs has it.

Changing number mid-season is poor form and I didn't think it was allowed. Reminds me of a certain player named Michael who did that.

ESPN's NBA page today looks at all the players available as free agents and restricted free agents as of the end of this season.
With all the focus on the 2010 free agent crop, net year has been greatly overlooked, yet it fields a number of high profile players who could really take teams from pretender to contender. See for yourself...

Took a look at the Knicks roster and the salaries they have on their books...
Marbury, Nate, Rose, Lee, Jerome James, Collins and Chandler all will finish their current contracts.
Their total salaries- little over 40mil.

Steph makes up half of it.

Rose and James make up 13.8mil of it.

Come Feb how many teams will decide to trade for these types of guys purley for the cap releif they bring? And the ability to sign a big 2009 FA?

What would the knicks want in return?
Maybe some picks and no-name players whose contracts will expire in 2010 so they can be in the LeBron-stakes...

The knicks have been in a Thomas induced hole for so long, maybe there really is light at the end of the tunnel...
