Who made classics any surprises?
Yes you are correct Anon in saying that half of the Melbourne Tigers Under 18 boys came from the 18.2 side last year. That was done simply because most of the 18.1 team were away at the Australian camp or injured. If the boys from the 2nd side didn't play, there would not have been a team to compete. I guess the fact that the team went on to win a bronze medal has upset someone!

438. Eltham u12 g will more than likely beat broad meadows they are in a tougher pool.
A challenge game is the right result in this instance.

"Maybe it's a surprise Traralgon made it to Classic ahead of a VC team like Geelong"? If you think about that comment you will realise that Traralgon WON the BV country champs which Geelong also competed in, therefore, Traralgon are officially considered BETTER than Geelong in the u18 Boys. I believe Jack will honor his home roots and play for Traralgon at the classic. Jack and his team will be dangerous for sure, no fear, work hard, won't be intimidated and they will have arguably 1 of the most versatile, talented youngsters in the country in Jack.
On another note, an u14G team finished with a good enough record to earn entry to this "invitational tournament" however, their club administrator never filed the "application" paper work. Why should you have to"apply" for an "invitational" tournament? This would of been a HUGE achievement for this club, yet a simple paperwork issue has blocked them from entering. Unfortunate and IMO should never happen.

Anon so if one team has one less win is it fair? And if one team has beaten a side above it on equal points but has less percentage is it fair? I think not . Should be based on overall ladder rankings. But that's my opinion.

Apparently all based on the two pools of the VC not on the overall ladder as u might expect. So 4th of one pool can challenge 4th of the other pool even if they have less wins. Does that seem like a fair system? Not in my eyes.

Yes there are challenge matches apparently 6 games in total at State Basketball centre.

The National Junior Classic is by invite only for the top 7 teams in the VJBL VC plus one country team if available plus 8 top teams from other states by invite only. The Nunawding tournament is for anyone and there is also the Ballarat tournament. Hope that helps clear the confusion and good luck.
