Breakers may have a signing up their sleeve?
If they snagged say a Rob Loe or Isaac Fotu they may decide to go with an Import PG & SG.
Corey Webster may even get the nod to start at SG.

A win/win for Darryl and the Breakers however anyone think Crawf and Harvs will end up the biggest losers from this decision?

I understand both P.C. and Harvey are free agents too. They may have to take a major salary hit if they wish to continue playing next season. I can't see Corletto's entry into the player market helping their causes.

Darryl can provide great value to a team and see reasonable minutes (8- 15 my guess) for at least for one season anyway, unless he can tie up a multi year deal.

May be a case of musical chair for some of the league's shooting guard vets.

Boy, the Breakers really don't put much stock in contracts, do they... Henry, Trueman, now Corletto... Ah well, at least he would have been paid out, bit of freedom to sign elsewhere on the cheap and prove himself for the following season...

Bit of shame, bought some experience and could be relied upon to knock down his free throws or nail the open 3 in transition.Him & his wife have been great with their clinics for the kids and will be missed.

Vickerman gave a forewarning to this not long ago. At the season review he said (for what they needed next season) “We want to make sure we have got enough athleticism and enough speed to play at a high tempo”. He constantly identified the lack of speed at the guard spots as a major problem. Corletto was probably the main guy to blame for that.

I think the way the league uses the guard spots also affects him. Corletto is a traditional SG – not quick, pure shooter and high IQ.

The way the NBL was this year, many teams were essentially running Point Guards at both the 1 & 2:

-Martin & Beal
-Gibson & Ervin
-Wilson & McCamey
-Rhys Martin & R.Clarke
-Markovic & Norton?

That meant that Corletto was often defending point guards or guys that have the quickness of PGs but are playing the SG position. A very tough defensive assignment. Very similar to Crawford – both are guys who probably can’t keep up defensively in the modern NBL.

He seemed really off last season. Was he carrying an injury?
