U17 Men's Squad for World Champs
Is that $1.00 per month for a subscription LC? Sounds cheap...

yes the youtube livecast was excellent for the girls , the only talking was the court announcer

Spot on - FIBA's TouTube channel is likely to show at least some of the games, but livebasketball.tv is another option - for US$1.

Their gave been different scorers in different games so again you can just say only a few are doing their job and it looks to me they are spreading the load which is good

You cannot determine how good or bad a player played purely from the score they had, others could be getting the rebounds assists, steal or playing great d to allow those to score.

Lost it in the 3rd but good effort hopefully they will be better at worlds next week

Hi I watched the u/17 men over 3 games against New Zealand earlier in their preparation. I thought Humphries played better than Perry but I don't know if Perry was carrying an injury back then? I do not think this squad is as strong as previous ones. However I wish them well and hope I am wrong.

Thanks Anon, I noticed Canada is in our group, surely teams will be posted soon? This will be a nice warm up to Spain a couple of weeks later, Go Assies...

Sorry, I think that is their squad, if anyone has the actual team feel free to amend the post...

So, the team is off to Europe before they drop into Dubai for the worlds. Just for interest how do we compare with the 2014 USA Men’s U17 World Championship Team?

And we now have an update on Kouat Noi as well up on PnR:
Kouat Noi beginning to receive NCAA interest, will explore prep school route
Kouat Noi is one of the most dynamic prospects in the country and is receiving interest from a number of impressive division 1 college programs. Cal State Long Beach, Nicholls State and Boise State have all expressed interest in the 6’7 forward out of Newcastle, NSW.

We have some great insights into some of the Aussie U17 men ahead of the 2014 World Champs...
Isaac Humphries targeted by Kansas and more
GCU, Nicholls St among those interested in Matt Owies
Lehigh, Albany emerge as suitors for Dejan Vasiljevic
Deng Gak being pursued by Creighton, USC
Jayden Hodgson receiving interest from Kansas St, Harvard, among others

is this confirmed re un19s as I was told Greece for girls or south africa no mention of russia

Me are in Greece, women are in Russia for U19 WC's in 2015.
Women's U17 WC kicks off tonight.

so un19 worlds are definately in greece not south africa?

The pleasing thing about Thon Maker from an Aussie perspective is that he has indicated his preference to play for Australia on the world stage within the past couple of months after a visit from Lemanis.
Now we just need to get him suited up in an Aussie uniform at a FIBA sanctioned event. One feels that the 2015 U19 World Championships in Greece will be the opportune time for him to shine at the World stage for the Emu's.

hes still learning to play his development is going to be done in USA not in australia, why do you think hes there, you cant put a tag on a kid who only done the basics and say we taught him everything

Thon Marker is sudanese, not australian and by the time he finishes his high school and college he will have spent more time in USA than in Australia, his brother also, so stands to reason he has no want to meet any obligations here, and not having a poke at the kid just being realistic, he would be better off applying for USA citizenship.

Congrats to those who made it. Good luck & make us proud.
