Breakers sign Tai Wesley
Jackson & Webster will be a pretty decent backcourt combo. I'm impressed with Corey's attitude to conditioning and his defense has improved tenfold.

That team screams 4th Championship Paul and yes NZ have no issues with Player Points after the loyalty discounts and long term contracts are applied.
Rob Loe has told NZ media that the plan is to head to Europe but he wouldn't write off NZ's chances.
Would love to see a team of
Pledger/Loe
Vukona/Wesley
Abercrombie/TeRangi
Penney/C.Webster
Jackson/Import
Second unit has some size and muscle with plenty of threats from outside. Run a cheaper Import PG behind Jackson who doesn't have to score the ball just carry it and dish it off with Webster playing the Harden/OKC role.

Could be the case anon with Penney enrolled at the University of Wisconsin and without a playing contract beyond that.

NZ's starting 5 looks better than Championship 2 & 3 as Corey Webster can create his own offence as well as knock down a contested 3 when compared to Corletto. The backup guard spots will determine how far NZ go this season imo.

Loe is a different kind of player.
He will have a successful career as most big men who can shoot always do in the NBL.
Loe played 2,823 minutes and 4 seasons at St Louis. Funnily enough it wasn’t until his second to last game of his college career (when he put up 22 and 15 on NC State) that I realised he could be a pretty special player.

non qwerty keyboard sorry fellas

Wesley < Pledger
Wilkinson < Pledger
Vukona < Pledger
Loe < Pledger

Wesley will be very solid.
He averaged 15 & 8 for Utah State - a good D1 College.
Those numbers are probably comparable, if not better than, some imports we have had in the past so its great that we have been able to pick him up as a local.

article outlining NZ's options and how Tai came to be in NZ

He has played professionally in the Netherlands & France & NZ has signed him for 2years.

I just like pulling the heights card. I am intrigued at the idea of TeRangi playing some SG. I guess it depends on how he goes in court to if he gets to stay a Breaker.

pulling out the potential & prime cards

When the Breakers play Pledger to his strengths he's great. Calling him injury prone is a bit of a stretch, sure he's had a bad run of late but thats just part of pro sports especially when you are over 7ft tall.

sound like you clean his hammer
chill?
marties mentality is too win & compete , he is a totally different animal
pledger loves his call of duty & ps4 too much to get his body right . been saying this for years , if he worked on his footwork , everything else will come in time . for all ive seen is he is blessed with height & can block a few shots on help defence . one on one , hes not the best. ups to him for making his own recruitment video to get a shot at college in america
but he needs to step up
you have Vukona by your side every week
eat what he eats & at least become half the beast his is . Wesley will make pledger look like Bloxham this season

I agree that Bailey will play the bulk of his minutes at SF but I do expect him to play some PF

Hasn't Pledger been playing national team games? I remember him saying that it was good to get back out there?

Bailey is hardly a big man.
He will be playing the 3 spot I would imagine, not the 4 spot.
He is 6"6

"Wesley has a Fijian father and while he comes out of the American system at Utah State, he is not regarded as an import in the ANBL under the new FIBA Oceania Player Rule."
When did that start? And what exactly is the rule?

has been injured in the past during NZBL season
injured 2nd half of would be 4th peat
injured playing ps4 just recently

Too bad big red aint there
pledger injury prone waste of time
