Best Australian Shooter
of the best 2 shooters, i saw werner linde the most....while the shooting of palubinskas, at montreal, gave an idea to start up a 3 point line.

*sigh*
Numbers are there if you want to see them... cut and paste it into notepad or something.

Aaron Trahair was lights out as a junior but was never able to translate his game to the senior level.

I'm with LC, as I remember being blown away by Eddie P, Ian Davies and Drewey many times. Linde sounds like he might have pushed Eddie - time to hit YouTube, I reckon.
I've got the greatest of respect for Patty, and he's got such an explosive shot that he's hard to stop, but I'm sure we've had guys who had much better range as well as better percentage. John Rillie and Michael Johnson spring to mind.

I know warm ups and shoot arounds shouldn't count but Peter Hill (ex Newcastle, Sydney and Gold Coast I think) was excellent. He very rarely missed during warm ups and people used to talk about his incredible strike rate at training. Sadly his in game % never really reflected this.
Both Heal and Gaze used to take a lot of shots under heavy defensive pressure, it would be interesting if those NBA Sportsvu cameras could have tracked them during their careers to see how their % would have changed comparing open looks and under defensive pressure.

Michael Diamon & Russell Mark

There are a few YouTube video's on Palbinskas who is now widely regarded as the best shooting coach in the world.
Here he teaches the follow through:

This is a great topic but what I find the most amazing is that other than the post above which mentioned Ricky Grace, we have no other naturalised Australians and that is a good thing in my opinion but Derek Rucker was awesome when he found his ramge as my favourite naturalised.
I find it easy to trust someone like Andrew Parkinson and believe every team needs a swingman off the bench like him that can change a game on a few shots. Mike Mackay comes to mind also.
Everything I've read suggests that had more of us seen Edfie Palubiskas then we would all be singing his praise.

Eddie Palubinskas was IMO the best Aussie shooter of all time. Andrew Gaze and Ian Davies not far behind.
As for current players, Patty, Goulding and Broekhoff.

Agree, if I had to win a game I would not hesitate to give it to P. Mills for the shot, no matter where on the court.
