NH: Hayne pursuing NFL Dream

Okay then, maybe I will have egg on myself then.....? Regardless, if he gets a chance I think he will impress someone, hope so.

Bear, the Seahawks coach was actually joking.

He knows nothing about Hayne. It was the ultimate troll!

Best of wishes to Hayne. Go get em!

Coach of Seatle Seahawks on ch. 9 news tonight, said he knows about him and reckons he is a great athlete and just the kind of athlete the Seahawks are always looking for!

Maybe the negative comments will have egg on them?

Mick I agree with you, in an NFL game how many minutes are they actually doing something.

I think that is the general consensus, he will always be able to come back, so he is having a crack with less risk than most...

There was a feature article about him today on Grantland.com which is pretty wide exposure.

He is obviously a great athlete but there would be lots of subleties to learn regardless of the position he plays. He may get bored by the specialisation of the role as in a normal NRL game he not only runs the ball but also plays a distributor role with passing to set up other players. In defence he not only makes numerous one on one tackles but as fullback marshalls the defensive line continuously. With the boot he will do kicks for distance, spiral bombs designed to be hard to catch, other bombs that are easy to catch for team mates and might also do the odd grubber kick or chip kick.

I hope he does well, good on him for having a go, and if he doesn't make it he will be welcomed back.

I think he will go to French Rugby after a year or so. That's my opinion anyway.

gives the rugby code a taste of what Australian basketball goes through daily !!

As noted above, he absolutely smashed the NFL physical testing.

After a year of more lifting and speed training (and less running - as the fitness level in the NFL is not required), god only knows what he could be testing.

Thanks HO, that makes some sense, but I don't think it will be for the dollars them. Not that he needs the big bucks, it appears he had a dream and passion to play the sport and yes at 26 this would be close to his final chance to have a crack at it.

I think he could be one of those utility players, he can run, catch and avoid players plus he can tackle too (without the helmet and pads), good luck to him!

Where do you guys see him playing, what position?

Great Press Conference

Blake Griffen will most likely go #1 in the draft. He dunks like LeBron and Amare and will be a force in the league. A couple other guys announced they wont be coming back to college...
Budinger from Arizona and Meeks from Kentucky.

How do you think Hansborough, Lawson, and Ellington will do?

Personally I think Hansborough is a little undersized but makes up for it with his hustle.
Lawson and ellington will do real good.

Over here in the states they said Patty Mills is the #1 pg in college ball and they think he'll go somewhere in the top 15 in the first round. That would be huge! He had bad timing with his injury but bounced back with a good game against Stephon Curry and Davidson. He had a great game against WSU aswell. Aaron Baynes from WSU could play in the NBA aswell. He is a beast!!
